Our Commitment
Your recordings and data are always under your control. EchoNote is built on three principles: local-first, minimal permissions, user-driven.
Recordings & Transcription
All audio recordings and speech-to-text transcriptions are stored entirely on your device. EchoNote uses the iOS built-in speech recognition framework to transcribe locally. No audio is uploaded to any server.
AI Features
Transcript text is only sent to our cloud AI service when you explicitly trigger AI Organize or AI Chat.
- The server processes text in real-time and does not store your content
- All transfers are encrypted via HTTPS
- You can choose not to use any AI features — recording and transcription work fully offline
Subscriptions & Payments
EchoNote subscriptions are handled through Apple's App Store and StoreKit.
- We do not collect any payment information or personally identifiable information
- Subscription verification only confirms your subscription status
- All payments are securely processed by Apple
Data We Don't Collect
EchoNote does not collect:
- Personal identity information (name, email, phone number)
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Location data
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
Data Deletion
When you delete a recording in the app, the audio file, transcription, and AI results are permanently erased with no residual data. Uninstalling the app removes all local data.
Third-Party Services
EchoNote uses the following third-party services:
- Apple App Store — App distribution and subscription management
- Cloud AI Service — Text analysis only when user-triggered (content is not stored)
Children's Privacy
EchoNote is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Policy Changes
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify users through an app update. We recommend checking this page periodically.
